Why this is free

The features other generators charge for

Most QR tools give you a plain black-and-white square for free, then paywall everything that makes it usable for a real business — your logo, your brand colors, a clean export. Here's what's typically behind the upgrade prompt, and what QRforLess gives you instead.

Typical free tier

  • Plain black/white only
  • Watermark or branding on export
  • Low-res PNG only
  • No logo embedding

Typical paid tier

  • $5–15/month
  • Logo & color unlocked
  • Dynamic/editable codes
  • Scan analytics

QRforLess

  • Full color + dot styling
  • Logo embedding
  • No watermark, high-res SVG/PNG
  • Dynamic codes, always free

Built for real use

Static or dynamic — pick what you need

A static code is baked once and can't change. A dynamic code points to a short link you control, so you can update the destination or check scan counts after it's printed.

Static QR codes

Encode a URL, Wi-Fi login, or contact card directly. Generates instantly in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Dynamic QR codes

Point the code at a short link you can redirect later — swap a menu URL, a form link, or an event page without reprinting.

Editable after printing

Scan analytics

See how many times a dynamic code has been scanned, and roughly when — useful for print materials you can't otherwise track.

FAQ

Common questions

Do QR codes expire?

A static code never expires — it's just a pattern encoding fixed data. A dynamic code from QRforLess stays active as long as the short link is live; there's no automatic expiry.

Is this really free, no catch?

Yes. The site is supported by ads on content pages, not by paywalling generator features. See our privacy policy for how that works.

Will a logo in the middle stop the code from scanning?

QR codes have built-in error correction, so a small logo covering the center usually still scans fine. Keep it under roughly a third of the code's area and test before printing in bulk.
